For many years, CSi has been a leading supplier in the area of palletising and product handling. The scope of supply encompasses everything from basic end-of-line palletising equipment to central multi-line or multi-load palletising systems, including case conveying, pallet transport and stretch wrapping. Everything from simple machines to complex integrated systems can be designed and produced by CSi, to exactly suit the needs of the customer. The main customers are leading manufacturers of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) or consumer packaged goods (CPG). Many of them are multinationals, with factories spread across the globe, others are leading players in their own geographic area.
CSi aims to design the best possible solution for any material handling challenge at the end of the production or packaging line and in warehouses. After receiving an order, dedicated project teams with experienced engineers implement the chosen solution in a professional and efficient way.
The goal of the teams is to guarantee the highest possible level of technical availability of the system, equipment and software are designed in to be very robust. The lifecycle services organisation guarantees these high levels of technical availability are for as long as is needed. A production line should never stop because of the palletising function.
CSi’s key product range is palletising equipment. Different types of robotic palletisers can be designed and produced. But also a wide range of layer, or conventional, palletisers are available. Low-infeed palletisers are also available, which can be placed directly after the production line, high-infeed palletisers create more space on the factory floor and high-speed palletisers handle a broad range of products in a central palletising area.
To complete a palletising cycle, many different functions have to be added: case conveying with accumulation, merging and sorting, labelling, pallet conveying with turntables and transfers and stretch wrapping. CSi combines this with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition/Manufacturing Execution Systems (SCADA/MES) systems to an efficient and reliable working solution..
Completing a project is just one step. Afterwards, the equipment has to be serviced for many years. The department of lifecycle services is well equipped to do so. With a 24/7 helpdesk, preventive maintenance, total care contracts, training and several other services all support is available. But also in the case of changes to the production line, many services are available. These include: relocations, modifications, capacity extensions, retrofits and software upgrades.
CSi is a global company and has completed projects in many countries around the world. It owns international sales offices, local agents, global partners and local service providers support customers everywhere around the globe. The company also owns assembly facilities in Romania (Eastern Europe) and China to benefit from low local wages and short delivery times.
Key in the development of CSi is achieving the shortest possible payback time and the highest return on investment (ROI) in transferring a manual palletising operation into an automatic one. That is why the company invests in product development with a focus on value engineering and cost price reduction. The lower the investment in a palletising function, the easier it becomes to generate an acceptable ROI.
In 2014, CSi celebrates 50 years of operations. The milestone represents half a century working in palletising and product handling for the world’s largest producers of FMCG. Over this time, CSi built an incredibly strong knowledge of the material handling business. While still based in the Netherlands, CSi has employees working in many different places worldwide.
