Voith Paper Webshop simplifies spare parts ordering

German company Voith stated that its Paper Webshop simplifies ordering of spare parts and provides documentation options.

Now, Voith Paper Webshop is also offering an easy way to purchase replacement parts, which enables all the information about a machine from the original delivery to the order history and operating instructions to be viewed.

While placing order for matching replacement or wear parts for paper machines that have tens of thousands of technical components can sometimes consumer time and therefore can be a high cost factor.

Voith claims that as much as 30% of the time it takes for maintenance work, can go into searching for the required components.

On Voith’s Paper Webshop, customers can search for the spare parts by using a clearly arranged tree structure or the order number and this can also be a customer-defined internal part number.

Voith claims that with only few clicks, one can find the required spare part and can access price, availability and delivery times.

Voith also stated that the Webshop can be seamlessly integrated into an organisation’s Enterprise Resource Plannning (ERP) system that allows placing order and order processing to be done effectively without system interruptions.

Perlen Papier Technical Purchasing Team Leader Christian Stocker said: "A search based on our own part numbers makes the order process much simpler and helps us to avoid ordering the wrong parts.

“In the meantime, the Swiss paper manufacturer is ordering around 90 percent of its replacement parts from the Voith Paper Webshop.”

Voith Paper Global E-Business Solutions Director Michael Thoma said: "Thanks to order tracking the person placing the order can see exactly when a part arrives at the plant, allowing for highly accurate scheduling of maintenance works.

“Being able to see the current availability of parts also allows paper manufacturers to maintain a leaner spare parts inventory."
