Videojet introduces new rough texture ribbon for thermal transfer overprinters

Videojet Technologies has introduced new rough texture black ribbon, which has been designed to provide better print quality and adhesion on rough packaging materials.

Compatible with Videojet DataFlex and Videojet 6200 series of TTO products, the new ribbon offers better adhesion and contrast when printing on rough surfaces such as Tyvek, uncoated labels, paper tickets, Kraft paper and hang tags.

Videojet rough texture ribbon has been developed to print logos, text, real-time dates and codes, including 2D Data Matrix and GS1-128 bar codes, directly on packaging materials.

Videojet’s new ribbon is said to provide enhanced print quality at high speeds, and is resistant to smudging and abrasion for code readability/

Featuring advanced backcoat technology, the new ribbon offers enhanced performance in multiple applications such as medical pouches and labels.

The company is offering the ribbon in a standard size of 55mm wide by 1000m long to help increase productivity.

In addition, Videojet is providing additional ribbon widths for the customers.

Videojet supplies business unit manager Sherry Washburn said: "Videojet works with manufacturers to identify new, growing and challenging applications that require unique solutions.

“This ribbon is tailored to meet a growing need in the packaged foods, pharmaceuticals and medical device industries. Videojet is pleased to offer this solution that expands our TTO capabilities.”

In November 2017, Videojet launched new high-resolution large character inkjet printers, which can be used by producers with on-demand case coding operations.

The new Videojet 2351 and 2361 case coding printers, which feature patented technology of the Videojet 2300 series, allows to print durable bar codes, text and images on white and brown corrugated boxes.

Videojet provides in-line printing, coding, and marking products, application specific fluids, as well as product life cycle services.

The company offers its products and services to the customers in the consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, and industrial goods industries.
