UK supplier of carbon fibre composite cores to the paper, printing, packaging and converting industries Ultra-Core has formed a partnership with Continental Cellulose Group as sales and marketing agent to ensure a rapid roll-out of its products to continental European markets.
Ultra-Core says success in the UK market has spurred its expansion plans with increasing demand for a high performance core that can provide immediate ongoing cost savings, reduced wastage and deliver environmental benefits. CCG’s expertise and extensive customer base combined with office locations across Europe makes it an excellent proposition for the company in its expansion across Western Europe.
John Probert, Ultra-Core’s md, states: “We are very confident about prospects for Ultra-Core in Europe as we feel we have achieved a winning combination – a product that can reduce costs, increase production and offer environmental credentials combined with a sales and marketing operation with an excellent reputation and customer base across Europe.”
Jean-Pierre Tasiaux, president of CCG, says: “We are delighted to be marketing such an innovative product that provides excellent synergies with our existing customers, to whom we can demonstrate the added-value of reusable cores, as well having a quality product with which to target new customers”.
The reusable composite cores are said to offer years of use compared to traditional ‘use and discard’ board cores. They are also said to provide new levels of stability resulting in a sharp reduction in the amount of waste paper left on the cores when spliced.
