POS and POP material specialist the simpsongroup has invested £110,000 in the UK’s first Digital Converting Machine from Esko-Graphics. The Washington, Tyne & Wear, based company will use its new DCM to boost its recent £750,000 investment in digital printing technology by speeding up short production runs and increasing efficiency.
Managing director Mark Simpson explains: “The DCM allows for reduced start-up and change-over times – dramatically increasing speed to market. It will allow us to run a seamless digital process, by automatically loading boards and other substrates, and cutting them individually using Esko-Graphics’ ArtiosCAD software. It will also eliminate the set-up costs associated with dies and, with a bedsize of 1.7 x 3m, it increases our capabilities for large format display work.”
