Germany-based specialty biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films manufacturer Treofan has introduced a 70µm (EUP70) thick film product for high-performance applications.
The new EUP70 technology platform expands the firm’s EUP high-performance in-mold labeling films portfolio.
Featuring matte on both sides, the technology platform meets the demanding requirements of sheet-fed offset printing.
Treofan said that the product’s high stiffness allows high processing speeds with improved quality, while the low density ensures optimal area yield.
The firm’s EUP product family is currently available in thicknesses of 50 micron (EUP50) and 60 micron (EUP60).
Treofan official Joachim Jung said: "The new 70 µm version is in response to our customers' ever-growing requirements when it comes to processing efficiency and quality.
"Its development is a result of our close collaboration with machinery manufacturers, converters and brand owners in the in-mold labeling industry."
Earlier this year, Treofan said it is investing around $45m in a new orientation line at its Americas facility in Zacapu, Mexico.
The five-layer and 10.4m orientation line will help to enhance the production by 50% at the facility or increasing the capacity by 30,000 tons per year.
Treofan Group is engaged in manufacturing BOPP films for packaging, label, tobacco and technical applications.
Employing approximately 1,100 people, Treofan Group currently operates four production sites in Germany, Italy and Mexico.
