Top coat takes out need for in-house priming

Avery Dennison claims that its TC7214 topcoat eliminates a cumbersome step in the digital label printing process.

Avery Dennison claims that its TC7214 topcoat eliminates a cumbersome step in the digital label printing process.

"For label converters, the challenge is to maintain label quality and visual impact at a realistic cost," affirms Kunhao Wang, business development manager, digital products, at Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials. "Removing the in-house coating step gives major benefits, cutting production times and also reducing the risk of failed runs."

The TC7214 Indigo Topcoat has been calibrated specifically for the company’s processes and products, "giving optimum ink transfer and anchorage across a very wide range of different segments and applications", the company states.

Avery Dennison offers currently "the broadest digital portfolio in the marketplace" with more than 130 HP-certified products. Both HP-certified PE85 and HGW facestocks are now available with the new topcoat, for exceptional cost performance in HPC and food applications.
