Steel Partners Holdings, the parent firm of API Group, has completed the acquisition of specialty coated film manufacturer Dunmore for an undisclosed sum.
Dunmore provides film conversion services such as coating, metallizing and laminating, as well as contract film manufacturing and custom film product development services.
Its coated film, metallized film and laminating film substrates can be used in various applications, including packaging, graphic arts, surfacing and fashion, aircraft, spacecraft and insulation.
The firm produces flexible packaging films for food and beverage applications. It also produces facestock films for the pressure-sensitive industry, in addition to packaging films.
The facestock films can be used in personal care applications, including cosmetics, hair care, over-the-counter pharmaceuticals / nutraceuticals, eye care and infant care.
Dunmore’s antimicrobial coated film will help inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeast, fungi and mold, making it suitable for use in appliances, electronics, building and insulation, label and packaging applications.
Its engineered medical device packaging films can be customized to meet specific requirements, enabling to use in specific applications.
Dunmore, which will be included in Steel Partners’ diversified industrial segment, will run as a stand-alone business.
Based in Bristol of Pennsylvania, the company operates two manufacturing facilities in the US and one manufacturing facility in Europe.
Steel Partners executive chairman Warren Lichtenstein said: “The transaction deepens our market penetration into substrates, technical films, and laminates, serving the aerospace, photo voltaic solar panel, reflective insulation and durable label markets. It also opens new adjacent markets for existing technologies and capabilities.”
Dunmore CEO Matt Sullivan said: “The complementary opportunities are huge and speak for themselves, so we look forward to working with Warren, Dino and the entire team as we develop this next, exciting phase in Dunmore’s history.”
