Spanish printer Ovelar has invested in additional MPS press in a bid to broaden its shrink sleeve production.
The purchase is a part of Ovelar’s efforts to continually invest in shrink sleeve label decoration technologies and actively pursue new applications as it considers shrink sleeves as a lucrative segment.
The fourth MPS press purchased by Ovelar is integrated with flexographic plates and rotogravure printing units. It can apply various types of high-quality inks or vibrant graphic effects to shrink sleeves.
Grupo Ovelar CEO Jesús Ovelar said: “This new press is intended for production of highly complex shrink sleeves, which brand owners are increasingly adapting in their packaging portfolios, as a way to further differentiate themselves in a highly competitive market.
“This investment will further strengthen Ovelar's position in this segment, in which our company provides printing widths from 430mm to 660mm and an extensive range of finishing options."
Local MPS Spanish agent Grupo Impryma CEO Félix Prieto said that the latest press sale to Ovelar is the most complex MPS machine on the Spanish market.
MPS commercial director Eric Hoendervangers said: “We are pleased to receive Ovelar’s continued trust in MPS through the purchase of their fourth press, to further solidify their position as a leader in the Spanish shrink sleeve market.”
MPS is engaged in providing flexo and offset press solutions for label and flexible packaging printers.
