Packaging firm Sonoco has introduced new PromoPeel integrated label technology for use in flexible packaging applications.
The new integrated label technology will enable brand owners to create an instant redeemable coupon or label for product packaging, helping in consistent label position.
PromoPeel integrated label technology can be used in applications, including coupons, recipes, peel-and-reveal games, trivia, contests, cross-promotions and others.
The label is said to lay flat and eliminate scanning issues at the register.
PromoPeel will help to avoid secondary processes associated with pressure-sensitive label (PSL) applications, enabling to improve labor and production efficiencies.
The technology can be deployed on existing filling lines for a low-cost implementation.
Sonoco marketing and innovation vice president Marcy Thompson said: "Customers lead increasingly busy lives and demand convenience. They want coupons that they don't need to search for, clip or remember to bring to the store.
"Instant redeemable on-pack coupons fulfill this need, while also driving impulse purchases and product trials.
"It helps CPGs streamline their label application process, it allows brand owners to achieve brand image consistency on the shelf, it generates consumer interest in-store, it removes cleanly, it scans easily at the register and it's proven to work on automated equipment at coupon clearinghouses during the downstream coupon redemption process."
Recently, the company launched ClearGuard packaging, which can be used as a substitute to aluminum foil or metalized films.
The ClearGuard portfolio of flexible packaging is designed to offer improved barrier properties for product protection.
Sonoco offers a range of consumer packaging, industrial and protective packaging products, in addition to displays and packaging supply chain services.
