Sleever overcomes complications

Sleever International UK has developed the sleeving for a new range of five Superdrug lip balm fragrances. Each is represented by a pastel shade – for instance pink for strawberry.

Chris Haigh, project controller at UK-based lip balm and OTC medicine manufacturer Galpharm International, which developed the range, says the six-colour gravure sleeving was complicated due to the productÕs size and the amount of information required on the sleeve.

Sleever’s European sales director Eric Masson explains: “We had to select the right process to ensure exact sleeve positioning, ease opening and operation.

“Correct film formulation to stop colours bleeding, and precise positioning of microperforations to ensure the cap could be easily replaced once opened were essential.”

Berkshire-based Sleever International shrunk the sleeves using a new infrared process.
