Schreiner MediPharm is set to exhibit its advanced digital and pharma security solutions at this year’s Pharmapack event in France.
The event will take place between 7 and 8 February in Paris.
At the event, the company will showcase a range of analog and digital security solutions for counterfeiting and tampering protection.
The firm will showcase solutions, including closure seal solutions for clear and irreversible first-opening indication, as well as integrated overt, covert and digital anti-counterfeiting used for authentication by laypersons and experts.
Schreiner’s BitSecure copy detection pattern can be used for a digital authentication of pharmaceutical packaging with the support of a smartphone app.
Based on a high-resolution and cloud-like random pattern, the BitSecure copy detection pattern is a printed digital security feature that helps to detect differences in the printed image by using a smartphone app or handheld reader.
The company will also showcase a new app for BitSecure authentication with selected smartphones and latest generation handheld readers.
The user interface of the app includes analysis algorithms that have been systematically updated, while the back-end data management system is incorporated into a future-proof development environment.
The EU Directive 2011/62/EU will come into force from 9 February, which is a new law for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
As per the law, the manufacturers need to provide secondary packaging for all medicines placed on the market with an individual serial number and an anti-tampering device.
