Robinson develops packaging solution for chilled cheesecakes

UK-based packaging solution provider Robinson has developed a new packaging solution for chilled cheesecakes for fresh prepared food manufacturer.

Developed in collaboration with an undisclosed fresh prepared food manufacturer, the new packaging helps in prevention of damaging the cake by consumers when removing it from the packaging. 

The packaging has been developed for the company which is engaged making a wide variety of chilled products including cheesecakes, trifles, tarts and cream cakes.

Robinson said: “The products are usually packed in thermoformed trays that require the consumer to push the cheesecake up and out of the base of the pack. If care isn’t taken this can cause the dessert to crack.”

The custom-moulded cheesecake pack’s tear strip feature at the front allows customers to unwrap it easily from the cheesecake, thus ensuring the product doesn’t break, is mess-free and can be presented perfectly on a serving plate.

The packaging has been launched initially within the New York Baked Cheesecake range in a popular high street retailer, Robinson said.

Robinson operates through two divisions which including Robinson Plastic Packaging and Robinson Paperbox Packaging

The plastics division is engaged in designing and manufacturing consumer led packaging, and convert a wide range of materials including PP, LLDPE, HDPE PET as well as provides printing, labeling, multi-port assembly and wadding.

Robinson’ Paperbox Packaging division offers luxury rigid paperboard packaging for premium products for sectors including confectionery, toiletries & cosmetics, and mobile phones, with a growing emphasis on gifting.
