Rehmpack, a Pakistan-based packaging printing firm, has purchased Koenig & Bauer’s (KBA) seven-color Rapida 106 sheet-fed offset press for its new facility in the Port Qasim Industrial Area, Karachi.
Featuring advanced sheetfed offset technology, the new 18,600m² facility is expected to begin operating by mid-2018.
KBA is providing seven-color Rapida 106 with double-coater configuration for UV and conventional printing applications.
The double coating process provided by the press will allow the company to provide quality finishing for the products.
Rehmpack has already used five and six-color sheetfed presses with single inline coating units, as well as advanced die-cutting and folding carton gluing machines for further processing.
The company also deployed narrow-web flexo machinery under separate labelling division. It produces PE films on an advanced extrusion line.
Rehmpack provides packaging solutions to various brands such as Procter & Gamble, GSK, Colgate-Palmolive, Mondelez, Coca Cola, English Biscuits, Continental Biscuits, National Foods, Tapal Tea and multiple front-line local companies.
Rehmpack director Atif Anis Barry said: “When making our decision, we paid particular attention to efficient, future-oriented technologies and high print quality.”
In July this, another Pakistan firm Deluxe Packages invested in KBA’s seven-color Rapida 106 sheetfed offset press.
The company purchased the seven-color sheetfed offset press to install at its Karachi facility.
Featuring 450mm raised foundations, the press has been integrated with accessory packages to be used for both board and plastics printing.
Rapida 106 press also features fully automatic FAPC plate changers and CleanTronic multi washing systems for the alternating use of different ink systems.
