R Design creates branding and packaging for the tastesmiths recipe kits

Fresh ingredient kits for delicious home cooked food launches in-store and on-line.

The brand, formerly called ‘Hare’s Moor’ was poised to take the next step in its development and grow from being a small range of DIY curry kits sold exclusively on line to a nationally distributed retail brand with an expanding range of products. To help achieve this, the brand identity and design needed to be overhauled

Branding agency R Design was invited to work on the complete re-branding including strategy, naming and brand identity design to accurately reflect the brand proposition and the values of the founders Sally Hares and daughter Stef.

Creative Director Dave Richmond comments: "it was soon apparent to us that Sally and Stef are on a real mission to get us cooking deliciously tasty food from scratch. So we set about capturing their knowledge and passion in a name and identity that tells their story in a captivating way"

The brand promise is to provide the essential but tricky to find fresh ingredients needed to make cooking amazingly tasty authentic dishes fun and simple. By gathering the right amount of fresh flavour giving ingredients such as chillies, curry leaves and more exotic ones like dried Limes and Cassia, as well as freshly roasted and ground spices needed to make specific dishes, tastesmiths delivers the unbeatable taste that only comes from scratch cooked food, with no waste.

"With the tastesmiths name and identity we lay claim to expertise in a great taste experience and the virtues of home cooked food. Everything from copywriting, photography to the physical packaging is about authenticity, freshness and brilliant tasting food" adds Richmond.

As important as the ingredients themselves are the recipes that have been developed by Sally and Stef through their own research and track testing of every dish. The recipes authentically represent original dishes drawn from different cultures around the world.

R Design developed the packaging and the website design. The site was implemented by web development agency Design Booth.
