Print performance at Next level

Visitors to the Flint Group stand at Labelexpo Europe were able to witness at first hand some of the excellent results that have been achieved using Flint Group Flexographic Products new nyloflex Next printing plate exposure technology.

Nyloflex Next is a high intensity UV exposure technology said to enable precise reproduction of the digital layout onto the finished printing plate by exposing it with UV-A-LEDs. The high level of UV emission leads to a significant improvement of the reproduction of finest relief elements, says Flint, adding: “The reproduction of high resolution surface screening provides superior print quality with much better ink laydown”.

Comparison with typical digital dots, the physical characteristics of the Next flat top dots are said to enable reduced dot gain tolerances. Due to the precise reproduction of image data, a 1:1 image transfer onto the printing plate can be obtained, “which clearly extends the colour gamut and improves the contrast of the printed image”.

Next technology does not require any additional consumables and is claimed to be suitable for all standard digital flexo plates in all formats and thicknesses. Flint says it can be easily integrated into an existing digital workflow.

Two types of exposure unit are offered: a mid-size with format 920 x 1,200mm, and the large size at 1,320 x 2,032mm.
