Nestlé Waters North America bottled water brand Nestlé Pure Life Purified Water has launched a new 700mL bottle developed by using food grade recycled plastic (rPET).
The new bottle, which features a modern and premium design, is made by using complete recycled plastic
Nestlé’s new rPET bottles are available in retail stores across North America.
The firm has decreased the PET plastic content in Nestlé Pure Life half-liter bottles by 40% since 2005.
From last year, the company started adding How2Recycle information on the labels of major US bottled water brands.
The labels will help reminding consumers to empty the bottle and replace the cap on the bottle before recycling.
The single-serve bottles of Arrowhead Brand Mountain Spring Water and Nestlé Pure Life Purified Water are developed by using 50% recycled plastic.
Nestlé works with strategic suppliers such as food-grade and post-consumer recycled PET producer CarbonLITE to increase the use of recycled plastic.
In addition, the firm is planning to expand its roster of suppliers to purchase more recycled plastic, enabling to use in other bottled water brands across the country.
Nestlé Waters North America executive president and chief marketing officer Antonio Sciuto said: “Nestlé Waters North America is the original bottled water company in the U.S., and environmental sustainability is an integral part of our company’s purpose and heritage.
“This new bottle made from 100 percent recycled plastic for our namesake brand is the latest way we’re satisfying consumer demand for healthy hydration on-the-go and inspiring consumers to recycle.”
Nestlé Waters North America produces of bottled water brands such as Poland Spring, Nestlé Pure Life, Perrier and S. Pellegrino.
The firm also operates home and office water delivery service, ReadyRefresh by Nestlé.
