Mark Andy, a provider of narrow web presses, has acquired digital offset printing solutions provider Presstek for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition will allow Mark Andy to provide a range of solutions for the global graphic arts and print industry.
Presstek provides direct imaging (DI) plates and presses and computer-to-plate (CTP) solutions, as well as world-class service for commercial and in-plant customers.
Under the deal, Presstek’s team, including over 60 technical professionals, will join Mark Andy to help better serve customers in North America
Mark Andy will now include certified technicians for providing equipment service for brands such as Presstek, ABDick, Ryobi, Heidelberg, Xerox, KBA, Epson and others.
Mark Andy Print Products (MAPP) distributed for Presstek DI and CTP products to the customers in North America for many years.

Presstek’s Zahara waterless plates division is not part of the deal, and will be established as a new firm, Verico Technology, under the leadership of former Presstek CEO Yuval Dubois.
Verico Technology will focus more on marketing cut sheet aluminum waterless plates and coating technologies for the customers in the printing industry. It is planning to enter into new markets.
