Lightweight facestock film helps reduce material use

New from ExxonMobil is Label-Lyte 52LLC210, a lightweight oriented polyolefin film said to offer excellent converting characteristics, conformability and flexibility for pressure sensitive label (PSL) applications. It is billed as robust and clear, with conformability and squeezability that enables brand-owners to enhance point-of-sale impact.

The conformability of Label-Lyte 52LLC210 film allows high quality tailored designs that reduce wrinkling and darting of the labels, even after the container is squeezed repeatedly. The film is said to be compatible with multiple print technologies including metallized inks, hot stamp and coldfoil decoration, and to display excellent clarity and gloss for an enhanced ‘no-label’ look. It is engineered to improve overall output with consistent web handling, reduced curl and diecutting advantages. Excellent ‘layflat”’and high speed matrix stripping help optimise film speed, lower scrap rates and reduce reworking of labeled containers, according to the manufacturer.

This Label-Lyte film is well suited for a wide range of market segments including health and beauty care, household products, beverages, canistered or bottled food, and automotive applications requiring exceptional label appearance.
