Latvia-based Liepaja Coffee Factory has introduced its first ground product using Amcor-manufactured Vento packaging system.
Vento is claimed to be the only coffee packaging system having built-in venting control, enabling the coffee to be packed right after roasting without using any additional equipment or for that matter any other processes.
The new coffee brand that has been using the Vento packaging technology is the Konigstern ground coffee which has been rated as one of the most successful new hot drinks last year in Latvia.
According to Amcor, Vento takes out the need of using hard valves, added machinery, and extra processing steps out of the equation. The result, it says is delivering simplification and enhanced total cost of ownership.
Liepaja Coffee Factory sales director Michael Buresh said: “For us as a local manufacturer, it is important to emphasize that we offer freshly roasted coffee that rivals our competitors. The integrated Vento degassing system facilitates this by allowing us to pack immediately after roasting.”
Buresh further added that Vento is an all-in-one option leaving the manufacturer to just order the packaging while the optimized packing process also decreases downtime and expenses.
Amcor has planned to demonstrate the Vento coffee packaging system alongside other innovative packaging solutions like PushPop and AmLite at this month’s Interpack in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Amcor operates in over 40 countries in more than 190 sites with a workforce of 31,000 people.
