French specialty paper firm Lecta has added a new woodfree silk paper to "The Excellent Collection" coated papers line.
Named as GardaPremium Natural, the new coated paper is claimed to be ideal for all types of printing needs. It is coated on both the sides and has a smooth surface to go along with its natural shade.
Lecta has rolled out the new product in 135, 150, 170 and 200 g/m2 variants. The new grade is said to provide good thickness, runnability that is extraordinary, high stiffness and strong resistance to cracking on fold.
GardaPremium Natural is also claimed to possess high opacity and deliver excellent print results.
According to Lecta, the feature that makes GardaPremium Natural stand out among its coated silk paper contemporaries is its natural color which is achieved without adding any optical brighteners.
Lecta further stated that the neutral tone of the GardaPremium Natural coated silk paper is ideal for improving color along with black-and-white images while highlighting each and every detail.
Last week, the specialty paper manufacturer announced an increase of 6-7% in the cost of all its 2 side CWF grades in sheets and reels in the European and overseas markets from 19 June. Lecta said that the hike was necessary to meet the growing manufacturing costs caused by continuously rising prices of pulp and latex among other raw materials.
The French firm is set to display its range of specialty papers at the Milan Packaging Premiere Fair in Italy which will be held from May 16 to 18. Lecta’s list for the fair includes Diva Art, Metalvac, Eurokote, Creaset and Adestor specialty papers.
