Label material can live dangerously

Herma’s new PETP white gloss polyester label material has been designed for extreme requirements, in the automotive and supply, chemical and logistics industries. UL listed, it is claimed to offer “supreme resistance” to heat, ageing and chemicals, highly aggressive lubricants, dropping battery acid, as well as shower and salt water. The main reason for this exceptional performance, says Herma, is a new UV cured acrylic adhesive.

A special surface treatment is said to ensure that Herma PETP white gloss produces a high quality finish for screen, letter and flexo printing. It also provides an optimal printing result from thermal transfer and laser printers, the company promises. The material is said to be suitable for the production of labels which are used as type plates – as in the engine compartment of cars – or for reliable marking in difficult production processes. A very good cost/performance ratio is also claimed.

Qualities available include white matt, transparent matt and silver matt. There are also a variety of PE and PP qualities and special films.
