Jet Label & Packaging, a Canada based producer of labels and printed tape, has acquired United Label Company for an undisclosed sum.
With the addition of space and production capacity, Jet Label will double in size, and the acquired firm will receive additional infrastructure investments.
United Label has four conventional flexographic presses with 7–10” width, 3-8 station color capabilities, suite of slitters, rewinders, finishing systems, and inspection systems.
The acquisition will enable Jet Label to utilize Unique Label’s equipment and personnel.
The 54000ft² Edmonton facility, headquarter of Jet Label, functions 24/7 in three shifts by using two HP Indigo Digital presses and 12 traditional flexographic presses with 6–20” width and 3-10 color station capabilities.
Jet Label, established in 1998, produces labels and printed tape for food & beverage and grocery stores, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, forestry, and industrial applications.
It manufactures a suite of durable, reliably water- and weatherproof labels, which has the capacity to withstand harsh conditions.
A range of address labels are also produced by the firm, that delivers parking and boarding passes and baggage tags to Edmonton International Airport.
The mass market retail sector of Jet Label will expand with acquisition. The clients of United Label include various retailers, wholesalers, and pharmacies, among them Costco, IGA, London Drugs and Safeway.
Jet Label & Packaging president Darrell Friesen said: “Combining forces with our friends at United Label Company is a perfect fit for Jet Label strategically, bolstering our retail sector business segment while providing much-needed additional capacity to other branches of our customer portfolio.”
