The North American container business of International Paper and the Peanuts Gang have partnered to offer a bulk packaging concept for the produce industry.
Snoopy, Charlie Brown and other Peanuts characters will now have international paper packaging.
The product displays that will be available exclusively to growers and shippers from International Paper’s five bulk facilities include corrugated bulk bins
The bins will feature Snoopy touting fresh watermelons and “It’s the Great Pumpkin” corrugated bulk bins portraying Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Linus.
International Paper North American Container business Marketing director Scott Dillon said: “This powerful combination is a standout, drawing customer attention and increasing sales by making shopping a fun experience.
“Peanuts has a multi-generational appeal, and this is a solid way to capture the consumer sentiment around this iconic brand.”
International Paper is based in the US state of Tennessee, producing fibre-based packaging, pulp and paper products. The company has manufacturing operations in North America, Latin America, Europe, North Africa, Asia and Russia.
The company produces pulp for diapers, tissue and other personal hygiene products, along with papers for education and communication, paper bags, cups and food containers.
International Paper has a workforce of 55,000, located in more than 24 countries. The company claims to have generated $21bn of sales in 2016.
Last December, International Paper had acquired Weyerhaeuser's pulp business for approximately $2.2bn in cash.
