Mineral water development enterprise Tibet Qomolangma Glacier Water Resources Development has selected Ineos Styrolution’s K-Resin grade KR03 material for the packaging of its Qomolangma Glacier mineral water bottle cap in Tibet, China.
Tibet Qomolangma is said to have sole mining rights to exploit drinking water in the Everest region. It supplies glacier water globally through its Qomolangma Glacier Water.
Developed in compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union (EU) food contact regulations, the KR03 offers properties such as clarity, toughness, ease of processability and high surface gloss.
Tibet Qomolangma material purchasing department general manager Yinguang Lu said: “We selected K-Resin KR03 for its clarity and toughness. Also, it is nicely suiting our moulding processes.
“We enjoyed a good working relationship with Ineos Styrolution since 2015 and we look forward to extending this partnership with interesting solutions that meet our needs.”
The styrene-butadiene-copolymer (SBC) grade KR03 is also claimed to be an ideal solution for the bottle cap application as it serves as a protection against dust and product counterfeiting.
