HP Indigo 12000 HD Digital Press launched at PRINT 17

HP said it is creating powerful digital print possibilities with new benchmarks for quality, productivity and color.

At PRINT 17, the company announced the HP Indigo 12000 HD Digital Press with breakthrough high definition imaging, and new print performance technology for HP PageWide Web Presses.

The company said that the new solutions are yet another step by it in advancing the transformation in analog-to-digital graphics printing technology.

It revealed that the B2-sized HP Indigo 12000 HD Digital Press has the capability to double image resolution to 1625 dpi and thus able to produce sharper, smoother, finer print with its high definition imaging system.

HP says that by integrating an additional 12 laser beams, the HP Indigo 12000 Digital Press is able to increase image resolution to 1625 dpi.

Print service providers (PSPs) using the new HP press can exceed offset quality due to its high addressability print resolution. This enables them to create new digital possibilities in high-end commercial and photo applications, said HP.

HP graphics solutions business general manager Santi Morera said: “We see more and more graphics businesses reinventing with HP digital. These new technologies can help PSPs address a wider range of commercial printing applications and open new revenue streams.

“With the new HP Indigo High Definition Imaging technology, the output is much higher quality than any competing digital solution and can even surpass the caliber of offset printing.”

HP expects to ship the HP Indigo 12000 HD by the year end.

At PRINT 17, HP today also announced that the HP Indigo 50000 Digital Press has been launched commercially having prevailed in a beta customer testing at Creel Printing.
