A set of PDF plug-ins developed by Global Graphics Software for prepress work has been approved and recommended by the Ghent PDF Workgroup. The plug-ins adjust or enhance the functionality of Global Graphics’ PDF creation and conversion technology and can be used immediately with the latest version of end user product Jaws PDF Creator (v3.4) and the Jaws PDF Courier software development kit for OEMs and system integrators. They can be downloaded free of charge by registered users of Jaws PDF Creator from the Global Graphics and jawspdf web sites (www.globalgraphics.com and www.jawspdf.com) and will also be available from www.ghentpdfworkgroup.org
Nik Stanbridge, Global Graphics PDF product manager, comments: “The Ghent PDF Workgroup is taking major steps in the development of process control in prepress delivery and we are pleased to be in the first wave of vendors to become a member company.”
Jaws PDF Creator 3.4 lets users create PDF files by either ‘printing’ to a PDF file from within any application, or by ‘drag-and-drop’ to the Jaws PDF Creator icon on the desktop. Jaws PDF Courier is an Internet enabled electronic document delivery toolkit that makes it possible for print service providers to receive only print ready PDF files from their customers. It allows print service providers to develop customized and branded customer software with the ability to configure and lock down PDF creation parameters and other features.
