Germany-based packaging manufacturer Wipak Group has invested in four Comexi S1 DT slitters to strengthen in business in Europe.
The four new slitters will complement the existing fleet of Comexi slitters and laminators which were installed at several production plants.
Of the four new S1 DT slitters, three machines are planned to be integrated with the other Comexi’s slitters installed at Wipak’s Walsrode plant, in Germany, in order to complete the automation project in its slitting section.
Wipak plans to install the fourth slitter Comexi S1 DT at its plant in Poland.
Comexi key account manager Agustí Combis said: “They are slitters completely automatic, with high added value, dedicated to the conversion of flexible laminates and semi rigid materials such as the ones used for the food packaging.”
The Comexi S1 DT slitter is a double turret slitting machine featuring regulating and control elements designed to allow high production rates in the most demanding jobs. It can also handle easily thicker structures, aluminums, or non-woven materials.
Comexi said: “This slitter can be adapted to each client’s need with several automation options such as automated reel unloading, splicing tables, print mark counters and the Comexi Laser system that mark the difference and multiplies the range of possibilities and applications.”
Separately, the firm noted it has recently delivered a Comexi slitter rewinder, purchased earlier, to Wipak Nastola.
Wipak Group is engaged in developing and manufacturing films and packaging solutions for food products and medical instruments and devices. It operates 10 factories, all in Europe.
