GF Assets Holdings, a portfolio firm of Wind Point Partners and parent company of Gehl Foods, has acquired US-based California Natural Products (CNP) for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Lathrop of California, CNP packages dairy-based and dairy alternative beverages, soups, broths, teas, nutritional drinks, wine and spirits in Tetra Pak cartons.
The company also produces specialty rice and soy-based ingredients for blue-chip consumer food brands.
The combination of Gehl and CNP will offer a range of packaging formats for low-acid aseptic food and beverage products.
Gehl, which operates manufacturing facility in Germantown of Wisconsin, provides packaging solutions such as bag-in-box, pouch, can, HDPE and PET single-serve bottles.
With its West Coast location, CNP provides filling capabilities for eight carton sizes, as well as ingredient development and manufacturing services.
Wind Point Partners managing director David Stott said: “CNP represents an ideal fit with Gehl and an excellent next step toward building out our platform in the growing segments of shelf-stable food and beverage.
“Our customers are looking for exceptional service across a breadth of packaging formats, coupled with product formulation and supply chain expertise. Together these businesses are poised to deliver on that proposition.”
CNP owner and CEO Pat Mitchell said: “The combination of both businesses represents a fundamentally sound foundation supported by a diversity of products and customers, as well as an opportunity to realize sustained growth in the coming years.”
Based in Germantown of Wisconsin, Gehl Foods produces dairy-based, shelf-stable beverages, cheese sauces and other products.
