Esko has integrated its Studio software with Luxion's KeyShot 3D real-time application to deliver photo-realistic rendering of packaging.
As a result of the integration, Esko Studio is expected to enhance the appearance of physical goods like plastics, metals, liquids, and glass to achieve realistic pack shots.
The combined software solution takes the best of both Studio and KeyShot for brand owners and pre-media.
The integrated solution is said to be capable to deliver print modeling plus realistic, high-resolution rendering in very less amount of time.
Esko interactive application software director Wim Fransen said: “With this integration, Studio customers will enjoy an easy-to-use workflow for creating photo-realistic pack shots.
“Together, Studio and KeyShot will save both time and money as realistic pack shots can be created before the packaging is produced, eliminating the need for expensive photo shoots of the final printed packaging.”
Studio, which features patented print modeling technology directly within Adobe Illustrator, handles all the print modeling. This, as per Luxion allows to quickly select any print numbers and finishing effects, and packaging specific substrates.
On the other hand, KeyShot takes care of materials that are non-printable and also of final renderings.
In a real-time interface, KeyShot provides drag-and-drop material, environment and lighting capabilities. This helps in developing visuals of high-quality that are extremely fast right through the package development process.
Luxion products & strategy vice president Thomas Teger said: “KeyShot creates fast, accurate and amazing visuals in a real-time workflow, reducing design and approval time.
“Esko Studio users can now enjoy enhanced renderings, including scientifically accurate material and environment presets, advanced material editing, and animation for the most accurate product, sales, and marketing visuals.”
