Germany-based Ellerhold Group has installed two Nilpeter MO-4 offset presses to expand its self-adhesive label production capacity.
The two identical presses were installed in two locations in Glücksburg and Zirndorf for use in combination with other printing processes and extensive finishing options.
The presses feature eight printing units including fiver offset. The printing units have option for integration with flexo or screen printing.
Nilpeter has integrated two FP-4 flatbed hot foil and embossing units to provide high quality finishing, such as hot and cold foil, embossing and lamination.
Additional features of the presses include an in-line measuring and control system from Lithec to ensure low waste rates.
Considering label production as an important part of the company’s future, Stephan and Maximilian Ellerhold, who form the management board of Ellerhold, focused on high quality, value-added labels such as for the beverage market, especially for wine and spirits.
Nilpeter said: “The focus was mainly on important benefits such as setup and job run times. In addition, Ellerhold presented the press manufacturers with extremely complicated designs to test the printing quality.
“Nilpeter was able to meet all expectations. Ultimately, however, the many options within value-added inline printing made the difference for Nilpeter.”
Employing 500 people, Nilpeter has manufacturing facilities in Slagelse, Denmark; Cincinnati, US; and Chennai, India. It has subsidiaries, branch offices, and agents in 65 countries.
