US-based Duravant has acquired weighing, counting and filling machine manufacturer Ohlson Packaging.
Based in Taunton of Massachusetts, Ohlson Packaging produces automatic food packaging lines and provides a complete line of solutions for packaging products into bags, bottles, boxes, premade pouches, cups, containers, trays and MAP systems.
Since 1967, Ohlson has been developing and manufacturing automatic and semi-automatic net weighing and counting machines.
The company produces linear weighers, vertical baggers, pouch machines, bucket elevators, rotary tables and supply hoppers.
Ohlson’s machinery solution can be used in several applications, including frozen foods, cheese and diary, chocolate, candy, confections, fruits and vegetables, coffee and powdered products, and Snack foods.
Ohlson provides services to customers such as Frito-Lay, Hershey’s, Kraft Foods, Tyson Foods and Maple Leaf Foods.
The acquisition will allow Duravant to expand its services to the customers in frozen foods, hardware, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, snack foods and electrical components.

Duravant's packaging equipment companies are engaged in the development and manufacturing of bag packaging equipment for the global customers.
The firm’s subsidiary Mespack produces high speed form-fill-seal machines, multi-lane machines, pre-made pouch filling equipment and continuous motion filling systems.
Its other business unit Arpac produces a range of shrink wrappers, shrink bundlers, tray formers, case formers, tray packers, case packers, shrink tunnels, palletizers, robotic palletizers and pallet stretch wrappers.
