European packaging strategist DS Smith has opened its sixth German PackRight Centre in Hövelhof.
The company opened the country’s first PackRight Centre in Hamburg in May 2016.
By considering all aspects of customer's respective supply cycle, the centre will create individual display and packaging solutions.
In June this year, DS Smith opened its fifth German PackRight Centre at the Kaarst location in the Düsseldorf metropolitan area.
The other centers are situated in Erlensee in the Rhine-Main area, in Pulheim, and in the Swiss town of Oftringen.
DS Smith said the PackRight Centre concept can significantly reduce the time-to-market, while bringing real added value to its customers.
The company is also planning to launch another PackRight Centre in the Germany and Switzerland region in early 2018.
DS Smith Germany and Switzerland region consumer packaging and display director Tom Wetzel said: “The discussions with our customers show that we are on the right track with our holistic approach and that our display and packaging concepts generate concrete added value for our customers.”
Hövelhof’s PackRight Centre head Marion Mandalka said: “It is important for our customers that their display or packaging solutions perform optimally throughout the entire supply cycle and reduce complexity.”
In October this year, DS Smith agreed to acquire Romanian firm EcoPack and EcoPaper for around €208m.
The integrated firm provides industrial packaging and paper solutions for its customers in Romania.
With operations in around 36 countries, DS Smith operates four business units such as packaging, recycling, paper and plastics.
The company’s product portfolio includes retail ready packaging, transit cases, consumer units, packs printed for gift and POS applications, and heavy duty packaging for industry.
