Diana debut at Chesapeake Leicester

Chesapeake Leicester will be home to the UK’s first new format Diana 80 folder gluer. The Leicester site, which specialises in ethical pharmaceutical packaging, has chosen this model and is also buying a Diana Packer as well as beta testing the Diana Braille Module and Diana Inspection Control module.

The Diana 80 replaces two older lines, bringing a “leap in machine efficiency levels” for the Chesapeake operation.

“The format of the Diana X 80 folder-gluer has opened the doors to Heidelberg in our sector,” says operations director Jon Drennan. “The launch of something this new and innovative was an exciting proposition and the supplier’s willingness to engage in some collaborative development encouraged us to make this move away from the incumbent supplier.”

The incorporation of an integral Braille module offers a valuable solution. Its key advantage, says Drennan, is that it can apply Braille anywhere on the carton and on various axes. The Diana Inspection Control module on the folder gluer meets the Japanese market’s demand for end of line quality control. It can also monitor all carton formats produced on a series of different sized presses, and check for postpress faults.
