American confectionery, food, and beverage company Mondelez has partnered with Crown Aerosols and Promotional Packaging to create a limited edition 80th anniversary tin for Cadbury Roses, a flagship product, for the chocolate company.
Cadbury made an entry into the chocolate assortment market in 1938 with the Cadbury Roses brand.
Mondelez wanted to create two premium, collectible tins that would highlight the brand’s longevity and quality that would match its heritage. The retro, vintage designs feature colored roses within ribbon-style banners against the traditional ‘Cadbury Roses Blue’ background.
The designs are expected to create a sense of nostalgia for consumers who associate the brand with special occasions, and also appeal to the younger generation.
Sustainability also played an important role in the company opting for metal packaging for the tins.
Crown Aerosols and Promotional Packaging Europe marketing director Veronique Curulla said: “Crown’s own commitment to sustainability and the circular economy have been a mainstay in the long-term relationship it has built with Mondelez and Crown’s in-house design team was delighted to have been chosen to work on this important project.”
The company said that metal is recyclable with no loss of properties, making it an important contributor to the circular economy. Cadbury Roses tins are available exclusively in Tesco from September.
Earlier in June 2018, Crown Bevcan Europe and Middle East had manufactured 10 new aluminum can designs for Coca-Cola Turkey’s summer promotional range, making use of thermochromic inks.
For the first time, four separate inks have been used to create designs that stand out when the cans are chilled.
The designs on Coke Red and Coke Zero beverage cans feature summer themes, ranging from ice cubes and palm trees to sandals and sailing boats.
The images are colorless at ambient temperature and change to colorful patterns when the drink is chilled.
The cans are produced at Crown’s Osmaniye plant in central southern Turkey.
Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Crown Holdings, through its subsidiaries, is a supplier of packaging products to consumer marketing companies across the globe.
