Cosmo Films, a provider of speciality films for flexible packaging, lamination and labeling applications, has developed new polypropylene (CPP) metalized film with high metal bond.
Designed to offer superior inter layer bond strength, the new CPP film is intended for making multi-layer laminate structures to enhance barrier properties.
The firm said apart from CPP’s inherent nature of excellent seal strength, good thermal stability, good yield economics and good puncture resistance, the film provides better metal bond strength of around 450 gm/inch.
The metalized film, which is available in standard thicknesses ranging from 20 to 30 microns, has a High Hot Tack and Low SIT of 96 to 98 degree Celsius. This allows FFS machines to run at a higher speed, thus helping improve productivity.
Cosmo Films Pankaj Poddar CEO said: “The latest addition of high metal bond strength film has definitely expanded our CPP portfolio and we see a huge potential for this film into flexible packaging.
“A strong metal adhesion is critical to get good interlayer bond strength which ultimately improves barrier properties, making it an ideal choice for food packaging applications.”
Capable of offering heat seal strength of 2.5 kg/inch, the film can be used for applications in industries including biscuits & snacks, bakery products, chocolates, chewing gums, dairy products, spices, among others.
To meet the needs of multiple applications, Cosmo offers the CPP films in different variants such as transparent, white opaque and metalized.
The film’s seal strength as well as good moisture and gas barrier makes it a material of choice for convertors and brand owners, the firm noted.
Cosmo Films is engaged in providing speciality films used for packaging, laminating and labeling applications.
Its products include bi-axially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, cast polypropylene (CPP) films as well as soon to be offered bi-axially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) films.
Claimed to be one of the largest producer of thermal laminating films, Cosmo Films operates plant cum distribution centres in the US, Korea & Japan.
