Comexi exhibits advanced offset printing technology at open house event

Flexible packaging solutions provider Comexi has exhibited its advanced offset printing technology at its headquarters in Spain.

The company gas showcased latest developments of its CI8 press at an open house event called Offset Innovation Day in its headquarters in Riudellots de la Selva, Girona.

Comexi has directly incorporated the cylinder service station with a press and sleeve-handling robot to rapidly check mounted plates and blankets.

With the addition of QuadTech technology, the company has upgraded color matching and color management functions of the press.

Comexi CI8 press, along with QuadTech’s SpectralCam system, helps to provide quality designs within short time.

At the event, the company has exhibited three Comexi CI8 presses with different features and configurations.

First Comexi CI8 press features two gravure in-line up and down stream units, while the second press is included with integrated robotization for sleeve loading and unloading services.

In addition, the second Comexi CI8 press is included with in-line reel slitting abilities.

Third offset printing press, working with SpectralCam in-line photo spectrometer, is combined with closed loop color control, helping to deliver better print quality.

Earlier this month, Comexi has introduced new lamination technology to enhance productivity.

The new laminator, Comexi ML2, is designed to work with solvent-based, water-based or solvent-free adhesives. It provides a ange of lamination and coating options.

The firm said that the new technology, which works with materials up to 1,530mm wide and at a speed of 450m/min, offers enlaced versatility and highest productivity.

Additionally, the new equipment allows making of all kinds of coatings and applications such as coldseal, heatseal, ink or varnishes.
