An Eco-Eagle coldfoil system has been supplied to Thomas Nickert Druckveredelung, Germany, by US manufacturer Graphic Art Systems.
Berlin-based Nickert previously used an Eagle System 4900 hotfoil machine built in 1998. Company owner Thomas Nickert explains: “We feel that coldfoiling will be a profitable additional service that will set us apart from our competition and provide our customers with an attractive process in terms of cost and graphic possibilities.”
The environmentally-friendly Eco-Eagle is said to use less power than a hairdryer and was designed to eliminate foil dust caused by machines using the old dancer roller system. It has the ability to run unlimited multiple narrow webs of the same size or different sizes, or one large web, depending on the job. Operator-friendly, it requires no mechanical, electrical or computer adjustments and can be retrofitted to new or existing 28-80 inch sheetfed offset presses.
