Netherlands-based Clondalkin Flexible Packaging (CFP) Grootegast has developed new stand up pouches for Boon Food Concepts’ new range of bean and vegetable based ready meals.
Said to be the first ready meal of its type in the Netherlands, the new microwaveable Boon range is made available in three varieties including curry, chilli and white bean tomato.
The new Boon range will be packaged in the new stand up pouch from Clondalkin Grootegast. It will have shelf life of six weeks.
Boon Food Concepts founder Michael Luesink said: Michael Luesink explained: “CFP Grootegast’s stand up pouches offered the ideal solution and they have been very supportive throughout the production process.”
Designed to offer a lightweight, convenient, durable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional packaging, the stand up pouches provides option of all round print, together with multi color print options for branding and shelf appeal.
Clondalkin said that the pouches also provide better food preservation properties and extended shelf-life, thus helping in reducing food waste.
CFP Grootegast sales manager Martina Fidder said: “There is much less choice when it comes to ready meals in the Netherlands compared for example to the UK so it was great to be involved in the project.”
Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Grootegast offers high barrier lidding film for plastic cups or trays, multi-layer laminates with aluminium, microwaveable packaging for frozen snacks, stand up pouches and printed bags.
