German manufacturing giant Bosch stated that it will showcase its new machine for producing and packaging granola bars at PACK EXPO 2017 to be held in Las Vegas in September this year.
The new system can produce and package granola bars on a fully integrated bar system, from mixing to palletising.
Bosch will be supplying the new system to Riverside Natural Foods in Canada.
The system includes WRF 600 Flex roller former forms an exactly defined slab. And, the WRW 600 Flex compression roller compresses the slab to the required height and weight. T
he WRF two-roller former-concept combines cross flow tempering offers an even mass slab and gentle handling of product.
The granola bars are then moved to Sigpack DGDE, a distribution station that places the products in line. The Sigpack FIT product infeed with linear motor technology provides push-button format changes, along with non-contact and gentle product feeding.
The next machine, Sigpack HRM flow wrapper will wrap 600 granola bars per minute. By using a fully automated high performance splicing (HPS) unit to the flow wrapper offers seamless splicing, while improving line efficiency and reducing downtime, can cut down on product waste.
The wrapped products will continue on to the next stage, where Sigpack TTM1, topload cartoner forms, loads and closes up to 100 cartons per minute. The changeover concept also allows for maximum pack style flexibility.
These cartons are then processed using Elematic 1001 sideload case packer, which packs the into Regular Slotted Cases (RSC). The machines, Sigpack TTM1 and Elematic 1001 are claimed to be ergonomic, robust while offering too-less changeovers in few minutes.
