Container manufacturer for food and beverage sector Ardagh Group's North American Glass division has taken the wraps off its 64oz Growler, riding high on their popularity in pubs, breweries and stores.
Growlers refer to small galvanized pails used for carrying fresh beer from pub to home during the 19th Century.
Ardagh Group’s North American Glass division beer sales director Clint Gawart said: "When purchasing Ardagh Group’s 64oz Growler, consumers are supporting American made products while helping thousands of middle-class US manufacturing jobs thrive in a global economy.
With a three-finger handle for enabling firm and convenient gripping, the growler is marked with a fill-line indicator allowing the 6% headspace, to avoid overfilling.
The new bottle will be available for sale on Ardagh Group’s BuyOurBottles site, along with five other types of amber bottles, including 12oz bottle, 22oz bottle, and two variations of 750ml bottle.
The firm launched the 750ml Belgian style glass beer bottle in April.
Ardagh Group North American glass division vice-president beer sales Robert Shanteau said: "Ardagh Group pioneered the Narrow Neck Press & Blow (NNPB) lightweight glass making process in the early 1990s and has been supplying environmentally friendly, lightweight bottles to craft brewers in growing quantities since that point in time."
