Xeikon, a digital color printing technology company, launched Xeikon Vectorizor, a new software add-on to the Xeikon X-800 digital front-end.
This software will set a new standard in communication with laser die cutting devices, said the Netherlands-based company.
The Vectorizer is said to take the integration of Xeikon digital press technology and laser die cutting devices to the next level, presenting new opportunities to automate label production and increase productivity.
Being exhibited at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago during September 11-13, Xeikon Vectorizor allows the digital front-end to generate die cut files that can be used to connect to laser die cutting devices.
Xeikon product marketing director Jeroen Van Bauwel said as laser die cutting is coming of age, there was a need to drive the die cutter automatically.
"Xeikon Vectorizor is the perfect tool for doing that," said Bauwel.
