Walmart pharmacy is adding Ecoslide-RX along with 5,600 US retail pharmacies.
The pharmaceutical compliance package, which is said to be more environmentally sustainable than traditional packs, will soon be arriving at Walmart’s pharmacies.
Introduced in late 2011, Ecoslide-RX has an F=1 child-resistance rating for customer safety and ease-of-use, two challenges for environmentally sustainable products in the pharmaceutical industry, according to healthcarepackaging.com.
Walmart pharmacy merchandising vice president Sandy Kinsey said that at Walmart, they are dedicated to patient care and have proven that adherence packaging assists in these endeavors.
In December 2011, St. Louis-based contract pharmaceutical packager Legacy Pharmaceutical invested in automated blister lines for pharmaceuticals in the Ecoslide-RX Pack.
