Twin Rivers introduces green paper for packaging applications

Integrated specialty paper company Twin Rivers Paper has announced the release of a new compostable and recyclable paper Acadia Natural, which is made from unbleached pulp and is ideal for food packaging.

Acadia Natural is FDA-compliant for direct and indirect food contact and offers a natural substrate for packaging applications such as fast-food sandwich wraps, french fry and carry-out bags and basket liners.

According to the company, the green paper offers the optimal solution for applications including Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR), food service, and retail food.

Acadia Natural is available in an Acadia Natural OGR version, for oil and grease resistance. The products bring good printability, runnability and convertability to packaging applications.

Twin Rivers Paper director of business development and marketing Dave Deger commenting on the new product said, "Acadia Natural answers the growing demand for natural alternatives for packaging papers and represents an ideal choice for companies looking to have their packaging reflect their own sustainability initiatives."

Twin Rivers Paper, which has operations in Maine and New Brunswick manufactures publishing, packaging and label products for targeted markets and applications.
