UK-based ThermoPod Protective Packaging launched ThermoKeeper temperature control and protective insulated box liners.
The environmentally green insulating liners fit closely into a protective corrugated outer box to keep contents of foods, wine, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics products in ideal temperature range with reduced packaging footprint on disposal, said the company.
ThermoKeeper Packaging acts as an alternative to foam lined coolers and other non-biodegradable shipping containers to support shipments, according to healthcarepackaging.com.
The outer surface of ThermoKeeper box liner is a biodegradable, waterproof poly film, and the inner surface is a biodegradable perforated poly film. A proprietary padding, which is also biodegradable, is inserted between the outer and inner films.
According to the company, insulation includes an EPA-approved anti-microbial additive for cross-contamination prevention and absorbent fibers to eliminate condensation of melting gel packs and provide auxiliary containment of accidental spills or leakage.
