Tetra Pak invests EUR25m at packaging material plant in Turkey

Tetra Pak has invested €25m at its packaging material factory in Izmir, Turkey to install a new VT laminator that will increase production capacity by 20%. The technology upgrade will enable local production and export of new packages to customers in the Turkey and Caucasus.

According to the Swedish food processing and packaging company, the new laminator is expected to commence production in January 2013 and will increase production capacity from five billion packs to about six billion.

Tetra Pak Turkey & Caucasus managing director Francis Goodenday said with the new investment the company will be able to meet the needs of its customers in a continuously growing market by providing them with better lead times, new packages and all the benefits of local supply and support.

"In an increasingly competitive world, Tetra Pak recognizes the need to offer our customers the very best products, technology and service," Goodenday said.

All types and sizes of Tetra Pak packages including Tetra Prisma Aseptic, Tetra Gemina Aseptic and Tetra Brik Aseptic packages with Helicap caps will be laminated with the help of the new technology.
