US provider of automation and design services TCGRx has launched the InspectRxPro collation unit to be used in conjunction with the InspectRx pouch verification device.
InspectRxPro, which is the final piece in the company’s closed loop medication pouch dispensing system supports its aim to provide customers with a quality control process.
The unit works in conjunction with the InspectRx as an imaging system to offer a less expensive and accurate verification and collation process and reduces labor costs, allowing personnel to be used in other locations.
According to the company, the unit separates pouches by patient, drug or med cabinet and then rolls and tapes 60 patient pouches per minute and drops the pouches into a tote for delivery. It identifies medications correctly and flags exceptions for pharmacist review.
The InspectRxPro is being released in the long-term care market to assist in the pouch delivery process, the company said.
