North American large-format printer Strine Printing will add its fifth manroland press, a Roland 906XXL 64” sheefted offset press with coater to be installed in early 2011, reported Printing Impressions. The objective of installing this press was to move beyond the saturated 40" market to deliver a wider range of folding carton, point-of-purchase and packaging work.
The fifth press is customised to Strine’s specifications with InlineColorPilot, System Brunner okBalance for grey balance evaluation and control to ensure color reproduction on the 64″ wide stock, addressing the POP and POS markets.
With the capacity and flexibility of five manroland large-format presses, the printer can print everything.
Strine is also upgrading two existing presses with ColorPilot ink controls from manroland. Networking with manroland’s printnet Press Manager systems delivers complete off press makeready and automated machine presets.
Strine has also planned to add more large-format presses in the near future, expanding its growth into new markets.
