Sone purchases new 3D printer to improve design capabilities

UK-based Sone has acquired a new 3D printer Makerbot Replicator 2x, as part of its ongoing strategy to improve its bespoke in-house design capabilities and develop its range of services further.

The company claims that the printer supports the company in providing new application solutions for its customers in the beauty and healthcare sectors.

Sone project engineer Duncan Wormald said investment in the 3D printer allows the company to extend its full service capabilities and manage design features on products for existing and new customers.

"The capability and accuracy of 3D printing permits us to make prototypes which can be fully tested before incurring tool cutting costs ahead of physical production," Wormald added.
