Smurfit Kappa is all set to introduce the new Viscotainer that can be used for any liquid or paste substance excluding dangerous goods and serves as a disposable alternative to plastic containers.
Due to the use of renewable resources, Viscotainer has a long service life and is also quick and easy to set up, packagingeurope.com reported.
The container is constructed with outer packaging and an octagonal inner ring that is made from a cardboard Linacor, a double-walled board, which comprises wet strength paper and is also sealed watertight.
Smurfit Kappa West account manager Thomas Geisler said plastic IBCs are rigid, empty containers occupying the similar storage space as filled ones.
"An empty Viscotainer®, on the other hand, lies flat and takes up very little space during transportation and storage," Geisler said.
